Chen Huade

In 2009, he joined the Ireland Fujian Chamber of Commerce, holding the office of Vice President.

In 2010, he became Executive President of the association.

In 2015, he was appointed Vice Chairman of the European Fujian Development Union, and played an active role in its work. On 29 February 2016, Tan Tianxing, Deputy Director of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, and Xu Jianguo, then Chinese Ambassador to Ireland, officially unveiled the plaque for the Dublin “Overseas Chinese Service Centre”. After the Centre was established, he served as its Administrative Director, supporting its development.

In November 2017, he served as class monitor of the 58th–59th session of the “Overseas Chinese Leaders Training Programme”, jointly hosted by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council and the China Overseas Exchange Association.

In June 2019, he attended the first session of the National Conditions Study Programme for Overseas Chinese Professionals at Peking University.

On 19 July 2019, he became Director of the Dublin “Overseas Chinese Service Centre”.

In late 2019, when COVID-19 broke out in China, President Chen Huade returned to Ireland. He actively purchased and donated protective supplies, and mobilised his company’s entire workforce to work overtime shipping them. With supplies scarce at the time, he and his company EASY2GO called on community associations and government bodies to join the effort, waived shipping fees on all donated goods, and opened dedicated international express routes to hard-hit regions across China to support the fight against the epidemic — drawing high praise from the Chinese Embassy in Ireland, from government departments, and from the Irish government.

In April 2020, as COVID-19 spread to Ireland, EASY2GO again took up the task: working with the Irish Department of Health, it rapidly shipped urgently needed protective supplies from China and South Korea. The effort drew close government attention, and the Taoiseach personally received the shipment.

In March 2022, he was appointed an Overseas Committee Member of the 7th Committee of the Anhui Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese.

On 28 August 2022, he was appointed President of the Ireland Fujian General Chamber of Commerce.

On 1 November 2022, at the first meeting of the 6th Council, President Chen Huade proposed a new organisational structure for the chamber — built around a presidium at its core, with its institutions, districts, liaison offices, departments and regional representative offices working with the secretariat in an interactive, interdependent, coexisting, complementary and highly collaborative structure. The aim was to better meet the needs of the times, achieve the chamber’s established goals, deliver benefits to members, help member businesses grow, and serve as an important bridge for bilateral trade between China and Ireland. By this point the Fujian General Chamber of Commerce’s activities had expanded to include four affiliated bodies — the Dublin “Overseas Chinese Service Centre”, the Overseas Chinese Service Centre Chinese School, the CCTV4 Club, and the Ireland Fuqing Native-Place Association — spanning 16 cities, 8 districts and 8 liaison offices across the whole of Ireland. At this same meeting, the full council voted to rename the Ireland Fujian Chamber of Commerce as the Ireland Fujian General Chamber of Commerce.

On 8 May 2023, the 10th Conference for Friendship of Overseas Chinese Associations, jointly hosted by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council and the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, was held in Beijing. Chen Huade, President of the Ireland Fujian General Chamber of Commerce, attended and was received cordially by President Xi Jinping.

On 13 September 2023, at the first council meeting of the 10th session of the China Council for the Promotion of the Peaceful Reunification of China, held together with the 18th Conference of Presidents of Overseas Councils for the Promotion of Peaceful Reunification of China, President Chen Huade was elected a Council Member of the China Council for the Promotion of the Peaceful Reunification of China, and was received cordially by Wang Huning, Chairman of the CPPCC of the CPC Central Committee.

In November 2023, Chen Huade was invited to become a Council Member of the 7th Tianjin Overseas Friendship Association.

In early 2024, Premier Li Qiang arrived in Dublin on an official visit to Ireland. Chen Huade led the Ireland Fujian General Chamber of Commerce in assisting with the reception arrangements.

On 7 June 2024, President Chen Huade, representing the Ireland Fujian General Chamber of Commerce, joined delegations from five European countries — six delegations in total — in the “Hearts Filled with China” visit programme for European Fujianese associations, marking the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

In October 2024, Chen Huade was invited to attend the 2024 Sichuan “Belt and Road” International Non-Governmental Friendship Organisations Exchange Conference.

In January 2025, he was invited to attend, as a non-voting attendee, the third session of the 14th Fujian Provincial People’s Congress.

On 8 May 2025 the Chinese Business Association of Ireland was formally established, and Chen Huade was appointed President of its first council.

On 16 January 2026, he attended the fifth session of the 18th Pingtan County People’s Congress as a non-voting attendee.

On 9 May 2026, he was appointed Chairman for Ireland of the European Federation of Fujian Associations.
