In 2016 he joined the Ireland Fujian Chamber of Commerce as Vice President. From 2022 to 2025 he served as Executive Vice President of the Ireland Fujian General Chamber of Commerce. Between 2017 and 2026 he represented the chamber on numerous occasions at major celebrations and exchange events held by Fujian overseas Chinese associations across Europe. In 2025, as one of the Founding Initiators, he established the Chinese Business Association of Ireland. In 2017, he founded SYC Travel Co. Limited, focusing on high-end bespoke travel services for private groups, business delegations and official delegations alike. In promoting and hosting business events, the company has consistently followed a service philosophy of “integrity first, the customer above all”, earning wide acclaim.

2024:
In January 2024, he assisted the President of the Ireland Fujian General Chamber of Commerce and successfully completed the reception work for Premier Li Qiang’s state visit to Ireland.

In July 2024, SYC Travel Co. Limited co-organised the “Friendly Sichuan” Comes to Ireland event, and was responsible for its reception arrangements throughout.

In October 2024, he was invited to attend the 2024 Sichuan “Belt and Road” International Non-Governmental Friendship Organisations Exchange Conference, actively promoting people-to-people exchange and practical work between China and Ireland.

2025:
In January 2025, he was involved throughout in preparing the Ireland overseas Chinese community’s Spring Festival celebration and the Embassy’s event to greet the overseas Chinese community, welcoming the newly arrived Ambassador Zhao.

In November 2025, he was invited to take part in the “Chinese Cultural Heritage, United in Building the Dream” joint visit to Sichuan by the European Councils for the Promotion of the Peaceful Reunification of China.

Mr Yu Yongqiang has consistently maintained a spirit of drive and honesty, working in a practical, results-focused way to advance in-depth exchange and cooperation between China and Ireland in culture, trade and tourism, and contributing to the development of Chinese community organisations and to China–Ireland friendship.

Harry Xia, male, of Han ethnicity, born in Shenyang, Liaoning Province, China. In 1998 he graduated from the Shenyang Politics and Law School with a major in economic law; in 2001 he went to Ireland to study, taking courses in basic accounting and business management. He has operated and managed a number of projects and companies, spanning catering and entertainment, traditional Chinese medicine acupuncture and physiotherapy, motor vehicle import and export trade, and the IT sector. In 2025 he joined the Chinese Business Association of Ireland as one of the Founding Initiators.
